Marketing, Public Relations, Program Development and Management, Volunteer Coordination, and Special Events
I build an alliance between nature and people by conceptualizing and carrying out projects for our National Trails. Projects include marketing and public relations initiatives, program development, project management, volunteer coordination, and special events.
I apply my strengths as a clear communicator, skilled facilitator, and an exemplary organizer to meet the needs of multiple partners. I provide unflagging energy and determination to produce reliable results.
Current Projects:
Serve as the A.T. Community Ambassador liaison to recruit and facilitate ambassador selection. Develop and deliver a workbook, orientation and trainings to selected ambassadors. Deliver ideas for stewardship projects, offer guidance for event planning, and establish systems for evaluation and reporting of Ambassador’s tasks. Help each ambassadors meet his/her goal of engaging fifty volunteers.
Develop a design guide for signage and kiosks to meet the needs of ATC, communities, agency partners, and satisfy requirements of local and state jurisdictions. The project will assess the feasibility of utilizing QR codes to connect visitors with resources and information.
Samples:
Researched and Developed a Family Program Manual (pdf) that includes worksheets and checklists for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and its affiliate clubs to engage families as hikers and volunteers. Produced a workshop for staff and volunteer leaders as part of ATC’s 2011 Biennial Conference at Emory & Henry College on July 4.
“Presenter was incredibly dynamic, engaging and well informed! Great at involving audience.”
Managed license plate programs for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy in four states to balance the interests of the organization, license plate customers, volunteer committee members, and the state. This work included, increasing annual sales in North Carolina to $117,000 annually, launching programs in two other states, and establishing systems to award grant funding annually.
Organized events, including scheduling, venue coordination, invitation and attendee lists, program materials, volunteers, promotions, and sponsors. I have also developed professional and educational programs that include all of the above as well as presenter and panelist coordination. (Event services utilized to: National Conference for Community and Justice, Lowcountry Environmental Education Program, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Leadership Greater Washington)
